The Importance of Friendships

Jesus says in the Bible: "I will no longer call you servants, but I will call you friends." The Bible shows that there is a friendship people can form with the world that is in reality hostile to God. If there is such a negative friendship, then there must similarly be a positive friendship that will help us to grow spiritually closer to God. In fact, there can be many such friendships: it is of utmost importance that believers form close friendships with those who will push them further in their faith and act as iron sharpening iron. As Acts 2 describes: "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."
