Divine Health

The Bible teaches that we will have glorified bodies in eternity, as we have been covering the past few weeks. But it also teaches that God's desire is to heal our earthly bodies, giving us a taste of eternity. In Jesus' time on earth, again and again he healed the sick and even raised the dead. These miracles were not just meant to prove he was the Messiah and pass away: when he sent off the disciples before ascending to heaven, Jesus said a sign of believers would be that "they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." We are a part of that same stream of believers, and God teaches that not only can he perform healing through us, but that he can heal us ourselves if we will only believe.
