No One Defeats God

I'd like for you to join me in 1 Samuel 4 and 5. In the story that led up to these chapters, the Israelites had brought the Ark of the Covenant into battle, resulting in it being seized by the Philistines in a tragic battle. What resulted when the Philistines attempted to place the Ark in their temple with their idols, however, is almost humorous in how God showed that there truly is no other god beside him. These passages are a reminder for us that nothing else we can imagine can compare to the one true God.
