The Generous Soul Will Prosper

I’d like to share with you about generosity. Proverbs 11:25 states, “The generous will prosper,” but what the prior verse says is perhaps even more surprising: “There is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.” The Bible thus teaches not only that God will bless those who are generous, but that those who fail to display generosity will end up the opposite of what their greed desired. A continual pattern is laid out in the Bible that God will take care of the generous. Time and time again in my life and in the church we have felt the blessings of generosity from others that I believe resulted from mine and Good News Church’s willingness first to display generosity.
