Generosity

These verses present a spiritual law that often contradicts worldly logic: the primary path to increase is through the act of giving away. Solomon illustrates that a "generous soul" does not merely benefit the recipient but becomes a conduit for their own enrichment. By using the imagery of watering, the Scripture highlights a beautiful reciprocity—as we move to refresh others with our resources, time, or encouragement, we find our own spirits replenished by the Lord.

Conversely, hoarding or withholding out of a scarcity mindset leads to the resentment of others and a barren inner life. This passage challenges us to see our lives as a fountain rather than a reservoir; true prosperity is found not in what we accumulate for ourselves, but in the blessing we release to those around us. It serves as a powerful reminder that we can never truly "run dry" when we are aligned with the heart of a giving God.
