An Anonymous Prophet

Last week I was walking early in the morning and asked the Lord, "Is there something you would like me to read?" I felt in my heart that God wanted me to cover 1 Samuel. The more I have read this book in preparation, the more I realize how good it is and how many good insights there are for Christians to learn from. We will pick back up here with Samuel's early life. Samuel was a forerunner to the Messiah, with similarities between his pregnancy and Jesus'. In this passage, God delivers a message to Samuel's mentor, Eli, through an anonymous prophet. Eli failed to honor God through his actions in his life, and it is important we learn how to not repeat his mistake.
