A Psalm of Provision

The Old and New Testaments both speak about the Lord being our shepherd - whether Jehovah Rohi or the shepherd Jesus speaks of "laying his life down for the sheep." Jesus fulfilled this role as shepherd when he came to earth, and we, of course, are the sheep. Like sheep often do, Isaiah 53:6 speaks of us all having gone astray, which shows even more our need for a shepherd who will guide and care for us. Psalm 23 is probably the most famous passage on the Lord's role as a shepherd for us, and tonight I'd like to speak on it and how it can serve as a psalm of provision for us.
