Gifts of Tongues & Interpretation

The gifts of tongues and the interpretation of tongues are two of the most distinct and powerful manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The gift of tongues is a supernatural ability to speak in a language unknown to the speaker, often a language of men or of angels, for prayer or as a sign. However, to be truly beneficial to the church gathering, this spiritual utterance must be coupled with the gift of interpretation. The interpretation is not a translation, but a divinely inspired explanation that makes the message understandable, ensuring that the entire body of believers is built up and edified by the Holy Spirit's communication.
